The Housekeeper
By Karen Singer
Chapter 33
“So when can I see you in your new dress?” Jennifer asked excitedly as
Roger set his tray down on the table where she and Stan were already
sitting.
He was later this time since one of his students had needed a little
extra help, but suddenly Roger was starting to regret his decision to sit with
them again. He had only made the effort
because Jennifer had been a really good friend and a lot of help to him last
night. “Um… I don’t know,” Roger
replied. He didn’t bother to say that he
never wanted her to see him in that dress at all… or any dress for that matter. “Besides,” he added, “you got to see it in
the changing room last night.” He didn’t
miss the sudden distasteful look that covered Stan’s face.
“That doesn’t count! And I
barely saw anything at all. I want to
see you all dressed up… completely. And
after last night, I think you owe me enough to let me see you that way now.”
“After last night?” Stan asked.
“Shopping,” Jennifer stated.
Stan knew they had been shopping.
It was the part about the fact that something had happened between them
so that now Roger seemed to owe her something.
He said nothing… but he continued to listen carefully.
Roger shook his head. “I don’t
know,” he finally said.
“Oh come on!” Jennifer exclaimed.
She leaned over across the table to talk more softly. “Nobody from school has to see it… just
me! And like I said,” she stated as she
sat back again, “I think you owe me at least that much now.”
Roger shook his head again. “I
don’t know,” he said yet again.
“Look,” Jennifer said as she tried to push the issue, “when are you
planning on wearing the thing?”
“Most likely to church on Sunday.”
He noticed Stan suddenly pushing his plate away and turning away with a
somewhat distasteful look on his face.
Jennifer noted Stan’s reaction too, but she chose to ignore it. “Well, maybe I can come by after church to
see it. We can have lunch together or
something.”
Stan couldn’t take anymore. He
got up and left.
Roger and Jennifer both watched him leave. “What’s up with him?” Roger asked.
“I’m not sure,” Jennifer replied, almost as mystified. She had a vague idea though that Stan might
be jealous of Roger, but since Roger was about to turn himself into a woman,
why would he possibly feel jealous? She
turned her attention back to Roger. “So
how about it? You call me as soon as you
get back from church on Sunday. That way
I can see how you look when you went out.”
Roger searched desperately for a way out of it… and his brain quickly
conjured up a perfectly good way to put a stop to Sunday – completely. “Uh… as soon as I get back from church, I’ve
got to start fixing the back of my house.
The rain is still leaking in around that tarp somewhat.
“Oh phooey! Can’t you just hold
off for a few hours?”
“I need all the time on it I can get!
It’s going to take me most of the day just to get it partially sealed
up. It will most likely take me several days
to rebuild it all.”
Jennifer scowled and went about eating her lunch, but she wasn’t
happy. Neither of them said anything at
all for nearly five minutes. It wasn’t
until they were both nearly finished eating that she suddenly looked up at him
and said. “Why don’t I just come to
church with you?”
Roger nearly had a fit as he tried to keep from spitting out the food
in his mouth. “You probably wouldn’t
like it,” he said, trying to persuade her away from the idea.
“Why? You seem to like it an
awful lot.”
“Because… it’s a very, very different kind of church. A lot of the people there are just plain… different!”
“Like you?” Jennifer asked with a slight giggle.
Roger nodded. “Exactly!”
Jennifer smiled. “Now you’ve got
me really intrigued! I can’t wait! And you can tell your housekeeper that I
won’t bother to stay for dinner afterwards… that is, unless you both want me to
stay.”
“Um… she and Carol won’t be there this week,” Roger said. “They’re… visiting friends,” was all he could
think to explain why they wouldn’t be there.
Actually, he had no idea in the world why Janice and Carol were going to
be away. He was just glad they would be
gone!
Jennifer’s smile brightened.
“There!” she exclaimed. “All the
more reason why I should go with you.
That way you won’t have to go alone!”
Roger was about to complain, but she beat him to it. “I’m very glad we’ve got that settled!” she
said happily.
Roger’s head was spinning. How
had she roped him into taking her to church?
Things were definitely going from impossible… to worse!
Using the code that had been emailed to her, Janice opened the lockbox
and removed the key that was inside.
Taking the key, she opened the front door. The large room in front of her was
beautifully decorated… although not in a style that was anything near her
personal preferences. Still, viewing the
decorating was not why she had used Roger’s credit card to rent the log tourist
cabin she was now standing in.
Her first priority for the house was that it had to be one in a
secluded location… which she was happy to see that it was. Not quite on top of the mountain, but still
close enough to afford a gorgeous view that her eyes now took in through the
large French doors across the back of the room.
But she wasn’t there for the view either. The rental cabin sat on a large piece of
ground and was mostly surrounded by trees.
She could see no other cabins anywhere near. The cabin was simply one of thousands like it…
possibly tens of thousands like it, in an area of the state that was famous for
being a place where tourists could simply get away from everything. She would be isolated here. There would be no chance of anyone knowing
what went on.
The cabin came with a pool table and a hot tub. She was interested in neither of them. What she did like about the cabin was the
large wooden support beams that stretched across the vaulted ceiling of the
room she was now standing in. She looked
up at one of the central ones. It was
massive… designed to carry a lot of weight… just like all of them. No doubt Roger could tell her far more about
such beams than she wanted to know, but her eyes told her everything about them
that she was interested in.
She moved on and checked out the rest of the house – the kitchen that
was open to the great room she was in… the three bedrooms, two of them
upstairs… and the game room on the level downstairs where the pool table was
and the hot-tub outside on the deck. No
doubt Carol would appreciate those items.
The house was located only half an hour away from Roger’s house. She had rented it from Thursday through next
Monday so that she could have plenty of time to set it up in advance as well as
clean things up afterwards. Once things
got going, she wouldn’t be leaving the cabin at all from Friday night until
Sunday night. She knew she could easily
send Carol back and forth to home if she wanted, but once she was there, she
figured that Carol ought to stay as well.
Carol might or might not like that so much, but she figured it was for
the best. This would be the first time
that she would involve Carol in any of this.
But after the way Carol had handled Roger while she was still in prison,
she figured Carol had earned this. Carol
had shown more talent in a few interesting areas than she figured she
would. It was time to teach her more.
She went back upstairs to the main room and back out to her car. She opened the back end. The ladder that Roger had put in the car for
her earlier, before he left for school, stretched from the very back end, across
the top of the back seat, and nearly up to the front seat. It was the only thing in the car. She pulled it out and lugged the thing into
the house. She didn’t need it yet, but
the darn thing was simply in her way.
Satisfied with everything she had seen about the rental place, she got
back into her car and left. She had
housework that needed to get done at home.
“But she wants to go to church with me!” Roger complained as he spread
some margarine on his dinner roll.
“Why Candy, I don’t know what you’re so upset about,” Janice replied. “I think that’s wonderful! It never hurts to bring another person to
church. She may very well find that she
likes it there and will continue to go every week.”
That was not something that Roger wanted to contemplate! “I just don’t think it’s a good idea,” he
said sullenly before he took a bite from the roll in his hand. The stupid hair from his wig threatened to
get in his way… again… and he tossed his head to move it – which didn’t work,
so he was forced to use his hand to shove it back behind his shoulder. Stupid long hair!
“Church is always a good
idea… Candy. Always!” Janice returned
before turning to her daughter. “Carol,
have you finished your homework yet?”
“Most of it, Momma.”
“How much longer do you think it will take, dear?”
“I don’t know. Half an hour at
the most. Hopefully a lot less.”
“Well don’t cut any corners. You
need to do well in all your classes.
We’re almost at the end of the school year.”
“I know, Momma.”
“Candy can do the dishes tonight instead while you finish your
homework,” Janice decided. “That way we
can get out of here sooner.”
Carol brightened a lot at that idea.
Roger didn’t.
Twenty minutes later, Roger was standing in front of the sink washing
dishes. He felt physically funny… all
because of the way he was dressed. He
wasn’t used to standing around the house dressed the way he was. Yes, he had worn the boots he had on as well
as the pantyhose many times now. But
everything else just simply felt… weird.
He hadn’t expected how much bigger, not to mention heavier, the ‘C’ cup
bra would feel with those new breast forms stuck inside of it. As he rinsed dishes, his arms continually
brushed against them – definately not something he was used to! Why didn’t Janice like to use the
dishwasher? Why did she always insist on
hand washing everything? Ugh!
He shifted his stance a bit so that the top he was wearing wouldn’t get
wet. He hadn’t tried the thing on in the
store before he bought it so he was grateful that it actually fit. What he hadn’t expected was that the thing
would feel so soft… and clingy… and that it would hug as tightly as it did
right under his breasts before it opened out and fell loosely over his hips…
over top of the tan skirt he was wearing.
The skirt was another “odd” thing.
The dress he had worn to church the last two weeks had a much fuller
skirt and came down to his knees. He hadn’t
tried this skirt on in the store before he bought it either, and now he found
that it was shorter than he thought it would be – at least three or four inches
above his knees. Not to mention that the
stupid thing was also tighter than the dress he had worn to church… not only around
his waist, but also around his legs. Note
to self – looser skirts are more comfortable!
And then of course there was his stupid wig. Ugh!
He had stuck it quickly on top of his head after almost as quickly
rushing through his makeup… all in the name of getting dressed enough so that
he could eat at the table. But he had
made it! Whew!
And now he knew that Janice and Carol would be away for much of the
evening tonight as well as the entire weekend.
Despite the fact that they would be back later tonight, he considered
that to be an extra bonus. The part he
wasn’t as crazy about was that Janice had told him she would review whatever he
had done towards becoming Candy when she got back tonight… before he went to
bed. He supposed he would most likely
just remain in the clothes he had on.
That was mostly all he needed to do tonight… get used to the clothes. But… he did still have to keep working on
that damn fallen tree in the backyard.
And that couldn’t wait!
He was somewhat surprised to see Janice carry a bucket full of cleaning
supplies out to the garage where she could put them into the car. Cleaning stuff? What was she planning on doing? A few minutes later, he saw her carry a mop
and some laundry detergent out to the car as well. He didn’t know where she was going… and
decided he didn’t want to know. He only
knew she and Carol were going to be gone for a while… and that he was glad!
A little while later, he watched through the living room window as
Janice backed out of the driveway, and headed off to… he still had no idea
where they were going, and he still didn’t really care. Just so long as they were gone! But where would they be going that they would
be doing that much cleaning? Visiting
someone who was old and invalid? Someone
who was sick? Was Janice out to do
something nice for someone? He tried to
put it from his mind as he turned away from the window.
Needing something to do, his mind immediately remembered the tree in
the backyard. But he didn’t want to
change into his work clothes. If he
wanted to stay out of the cage tonight, he needed to remain dressed as Candy
for the rest of the night. So dressed
just as he was, he headed out the door and around to the back of the
house. In his workshop, he buckled his
back brace around his waist, gassed up his chainsaw, and headed out to do
battle with the giant fallen tree.
Before he started his saw, he stood staring at the darn tree. He had barely made a dent in the job the last
time he had worked on it… the time when Jennifer had shown up. The breeze blew his stupid long hair across
his face. He had to pull it back out of
the way with his hand. But the breeze
only blew it back in his face again.
Damn it! The long hair was irritating. He started to kneel down to the ground to
start his saw… and felt the restriction of the stupid skirt he was wearing… as
the breeze again blew his equally stupid hair across his face again. “Shit!” he cursed out loud. He stood up and returned to his workshop
where he put his saw away and removed the back brace.
He went into the house where he found his cellphone… another reason he
wasn’t happy with the skirt he was wearing.
It had pockets, but they were too small for his phone… or his wallet… or
most anything else for that matter. A
few minutes later, he dialed the number of a tree service he had looked
up. Let them deal with the monster
tree. He would deal with the house
damage later… when they were done.
With the chance to have the house to himself, he stretched out on the
couch and turned the TV on to relax for a little while… and tried to put his
whole impossible life, totally out of his mind.
“There it is, Momma,” Carol said as they walked down the aisle of the
building supply store. She looked over
the choices in front of her. “I think
this is the same size chain I bought here before.”
Janice nodded. “It looks like
it, dear.” What she was looking at, was
a large drum with chain rolled around it.
“How do we get what we want?” she asked.
“You have to have someone cut it,” Carol explained. “They have to use that machine over there to do
it. Why didn’t you just use the stuff we
have at home?”
“Because it’s not nearly long enough,” Janice replied with a
smile. “Now how do we find someone who
can help us?”
Half an hour later, Carol pushed a shopping cart out of the store. Her mother had bought twenty feet of the
chain. She had no idea why they needed
so much. The cart also contained a very
large roll of heavy duty plastic sheeting.
Why they needed that she also had no idea. Her mother had also bought a selection of
different sizes of padlocks… although she could possibly guess as to why they
might need some of them… but she wasn’t really sure.
From the building supply store, they went grocery shopping… where they
completely filled the cart with everything they might possible need to see them
through the entire weekend. By the time
they were done, the entire back of the car was heavily loaded.
Janice headed for the cabin she had rented earlier. There was a lot of work that needed to get
done tonight. She was glad that she had
decided to include Carol in her plans.
Roger sat at the kitchen table, noting that the skirt he was wearing
was tight enough to force his legs together as he sat. He wasn’t trying to sit primly, the skirt was
making him sit that way. The laptop
computer in front of him held one of the tests he was putting together to give
to his students next week. He thought
about Carol. He hadn’t given her any
special “tutoring” in a while now. But
she had done extremely well on the few practice quizzes he had given in the
last few weeks.
He stared at the test and decided he was done. It would be good enough. It was now time to turn his attention toward
creating the final exams for his classes.
The exams that he would spend the next few weeks preparing everyone for.
The exams that would usher in the end of
the school year. But would those exams
also usher out his identity as Roger Brinkley?
He could only hope not.
“There!” Janice exclaimed as she stared at the room and surveyed their
work. “I think that should just about do
it for tonight.”
Carol looked at what they had accomplished as well. All the furniture in the large room had been
pushed way back out of the way, clearing a large area in the middle of the
room. Most of the floor in the room was
now covered by the heavy duty sheet of plastic they had put down. And hanging from the rafter in the very
middle of the room was a long piece of chain.
Even with Roger’s stepladder, they had had a difficult time getting the
chain over top of the rafter and then putting one of the padlocks through it in
just the right place to keep it there.
The bottom of the chain just reached the floor with less than a foot to
spare. And of course, padlocked to the
end of the chain was Roger’s dog collar – complete with the shock box training
device. Carol herself had replaced the
batteries in it with fresh ones. There
were plenty of spares if they needed them as well.
One of the most difficult things Carol and her mother had worked on was
to enlarge one of the holes in the dog collar so they could get one of the
smallest padlocks through it. But
eventually they had managed the feat.
Everything now stood ready for them to bring in their guest.
“Time to go dear,” Janice said as she turned toward the kitchen where
their purses were. “Mr. Brinkley will be
late going to bed if we don’t get back soon.”
“You mean Candy, don’t you?” Carol teased.
Janice smiled. “Let’s hope so!”
Roger was already in his room, already in his new nightgown, when he
saw the lights from Janice’s car coming into the driveway. Not wanting to go out to meet them wearing
just the nightgown, he stayed right where he was… with his bedroom door closed. He turned out his light and laid down on the
floor to go to sleep. He expected the
thin nightgown to make a big difference to how naked he felt when he wore it to
sleep in now, but the truth was that he felt almost just as naked. It certainly didn’t do anything to make him
feel any warmer at night, that was for sure!
He propped his head on a pile of sweatshirts as he listened to the faint
sounds of Janice and Carol coming into the house.
Two minutes later, his bedroom door opened… and his light was turned
on. He half sat up to see what Janice
wanted now.
“Already in bed, I see,” Janice said.
“Sorry we were so late. Things
just took a bit longer than I expected.”
Roger made no reply, no motion to that statement at all.
“Candy,” Janice said to the man wearing the nightgown, trying to use
the name she was going to have to get used to using for him… or rather…
her. “I need you to do something for me
please.”
“What’s that?” Roger asked.
“Sleep and obey,” Janice replied.
“Sleep and obey.”
Roger’s head went spinning once again as the irresistible words dropped
him quickly into a trance. He never had
a chance… not that there was any way he could fight it either.
It had been a while now since Janice had hypnotized him. She knew she didn’t need to, but he simply
had such a strong mind. And after the
last time when she had over-done things with his collar, she was afraid to use
that method on him again. All indications
were that the conditioning she had put into his brain was there to stay now –
permanently. But because he had that
strong mind, she simply didn’t want to take any chances – especially now that
it looked like his lady friend would be more and more involved.
She didn’t spend a lot of time on it, she just went over point after
point, reinforcing everything she needed him to remember. He had to protect Carol and herself at all
costs. And he couldn’t let anyone know
what was really going on. And before she
finished, she told him that she wanted him to be Candy as much as possible
while she and Carol would be away. He
could dress as Roger when he went out to work, but even there, he would have to
comply with the way he was supposed to dress now. At all other times, she expected him to work
on becoming Candy… and to work hard at it.
Leaving him still in his hypnotized state, she had him lay back down on
the floor again with his head on the pile of sweatshirts. He wouldn’t wake up until tomorrow morning.
